Callanwolde started its life in 1920 as the Gothic-Tudor home of Charles Howard Candler, the oldest son of Coca-Cola founder Asa Candler. The property, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is operated by The Callanwolde Foundation as a major arts and cultural center. The Arts Education Program at Callanwolde offers classes in the visual, performing and literary arts for both children and adults, and for beginners as well as professional artists. Students may choose from over 100 courses each quarter, ranging from one-day workshops to ten-week classes.
