The Candler Park neighborhood has a wonderfully diverse business district spread along McLendon Avenue and DeKalb Avenue and terminating in the unabashedly alternative Little Five Points. There are a wide range of businesses, with everything from excellent eateries and a neighborhood market with great wine selection, to a belly dancing studio and an indoor rock climbing place. Public schools and private schools in Candler Park
The Candler Park neighborhood lies inside the City of Atlanta. Children attend Mary Lin Elementary (located adjacent to the park), Inman Middle School (in the nearby Morningside neighborhood), and Grady High School (in Midtown). There are quite a few private schools in the vicinity as well, although the only one really in (or technically bordering) the neighborhood is Paideia, an excellent school serving children from age 3 to 12th grade.
