MARTA Routes in Morningside

The Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority ("MARTA") provides bus service throughout Morningside. Buses travel each of the major streets in the neighborhood, including: Monroe Drive, Piedmont Avenue and Piedmont Road, Cheshire Bridge Road, Briarcliff Road, Clifton Road, North Decatur Road, East Rock Springs Road, Johnson Road, North Highland Avenue, Lanier Boulevard, and University Drive.

Route: From Lindbergh rail station crosses Piedmont Road to Lindbergh Drive/Lavista Road; South on Briarcliff Road to Clifton Road; continues on Clifton through the Emory University campus to West on N. Decatur Rd.; through the Druid Hills neighborhood via Oxford Rd. and The Byway back to South on Briarcliff Road/Moreland Avenue; East on North Avenue through the Candler Park and Edgewood neighborhoods via Oakdale Road, Whitefoord Avenue, LaFrance St., and Mayson Avenue to the Edgewood/Candler Park rail station.

Stops at or near: Lindbergh City Center; Lindbergh Plaza; Wesley Woods; CDC; American Cancer Society; Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston; Emory Clinic; Emory Hospital; Emory University; Emory Village; Callanwolde Fine Arts Center

Noble Five Points Schedule Info.
Route: From Wesley Woods near Emory University West on Clifton Road to South on Briarcliff Road to South on Johnson Road which becomes North Highland Avenue; continues South on North Highland Avenue through the Morningside and Virginia-Highland neighborhoods to Freedom Parkway; loops Freedom Parkway around the Carter Center then West on Ralph McGill Boulevard to Downtown Atlanta; continues through Downtown central business district via Courtland Street, Harris Street, and Peachtree Center Avenue, and John Wesley Dobbs to South on Peachtree Street; then to West on MLK Jr. Drive and North on Broad Street to the Five Points rail station

Stops at or near: Wesley Woods; Sage Hill shopping center; Zonolite Road shopping district; N Highland Avenue shopping districts, including Virginia-Highland; Carter Center, Georgia Medical Center, Georgia Power headquarters; Atlanta Civic Center, Peachtree Center; Georgia Pacific Center; Downtown Atlanta Library; Underground Atlanta

Monroe Dr/ Lindbergh Lindbergh, North Ave., (Arts Center) Schedule Info.
Route: From Lindbergh rail station crosses Piedmont to Lindbergh Dr./Lavista Rd. to South on Woodland Hills Drive through the Woodland Hills neighborhood to Woodland Avenue to South on Cheshire Bridge Rd; West on Piedmont Circle to Monroe Drive (some trips loop through the Armour Dr./Plaster Ave.); continue south on Monroe Drive which becomes Boulevard Dr. to West on North Avenue to the North Avenue station (Sunday trips differ considerably and terminate at the Arts Center station -- check the schedule and route map for details)

Stops at or near: Lindbergh City Center; Lindbergh Plaza; American Red Cross; Ansley Mall; Piedmont Park; Midtown Promenade; City Hall East; Midtown Place; Crawford Long Hospital; Civic Center; Fox Theatre

North Decatur Arts Center, Avondale Schedule Info.
Route: From the Arts Center Station to East on 15th St. to South on Peachtree to East on 14th St.; North on Piedmont Avenue to E. Morningside Dr. which becomes E. Rock Springs Rd. then North Decatur Rd. passing through the Morningside, Druid Hills, and North Decatur neighborhoods; in Decatur, the route turns South onto Winn Way continuing to North Acadia Avenue and East Ponce de Leon Avenue and terminating at the Avondale rail station.

Stops at or near: Woodruff Arts Center; High Museum of Art; Colony Square; Atlanta Botanical Garden at Piedmont Park; Ansley Mall; Emory Village; Emory University; Druid Hills High School; Suburban Plaza; DeKalb Medical Center

Virginia/Frederica North Ave. Schedule Info.
Route: Loops through the Virginia-Highland neighborhood via Ponce de Leon Avenue, Frederica St. and St. Charles Place then turns North on North Highland Avenue to the Virginia-Highland business district; West on Virginia Avenue to South on Monroe Drive to West on 8th Street; travels through the Midtown neighborhood via Argonne and 5th St (inbound) and Piedmont and 10th St. (outbound); proceeds West on 5th St to South on Peachtree Street to West on Ponce de Leon Avenue and the North Avenue rail station; from the station it travels North on West Peachtree back to 5th Street

Stops at or near: North Highland Avenue business district and Virginia-Highland; Midtown Promenade; Grady High School; Piedmont Park; Fox Theatre
