MARTA Routes in Midtown

The Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority ("MARTA") provides bus and rail service in the Midtown neighborhood. Buses travel the major streets in the neighborhood, including: Ponce de Leon Avenue, Monroe Drive, North Avenue, Piedmont Avenue, and Peachtree Street. [Bus route details.]

Midtown is also served by four MARTA rail stations: Arts Center (N5), Midtown (N4), North Avenue (N3), and the Civic Center (N2) stations. Rail service operates every 10-15 minutes throughout the day on weekdays and Saturdays, and every 15-20 minutes on Sundays. MARTA's rail system generally runs from 5 am until 1 am Monday through Friday, and from 6 am until Midnight on weekends and holidays. You can view the rail system map on the MARTA web site.

Route: From the Arts Center station, this route loops around West Peachtree Street to 19th, down Spring Street to 16th and back to the Arts Center station and 15th Street before travelling South on Peachtree through Midtown into Downtown. When downtown, it also loops around the State Capital via Mitchell St., Capitol Ave., MLK Jr. Dr, and Broad St.

Route: From the Lenox rail station east on Lenox Road to Peachtree Road and then south on Peachtree to east 15th Street and ending at the Arts Center rail station. This route connects the northern end of Midtown with the heart of Buckhead.

Route: From Lindbergh rail station crosses Piedmont to Lindbergh Dr./Lavista Rd. to South on Woodland Hills Drive through the Woodland Hills neighborhood to Woodland Avenue to South on Cheshire Bridge Rd; West on Piedmont Circle to Monroe Drive (some trips loop through the Armour Dr./Plaster Ave.); continue south on Monroe Drive which becomes Boulevard Dr. to West on North Avenue to the North Avenue station (Sunday trips differ considerably and terminate at the Arts Center station -- check the schedule and route map for details)

Route: From the Arts Center Station to East on 15th St. to South on Peachtree to East on 14th St.; North on Piedmont Avenue to E. Morningside Dr. which becomes E. Rock Springs Rd. then North Decatur Rd. passing through the Morningside, Druid Hills, and North Decatur neighborhoods; in Decatur, the route turns South onto Winn Way continuing to North Acadia Avenue and East Ponce de Leon Avenue and terminating at the Avondale rail station.

Route: Loops through the Virginia-Highland neighborhood via Ponce de Leon Avenue, Frederica St. and St. Charles Place then turns North on North Highland Avenue to the Virginia-Highland business district; West on Virginia Avenue to South on Monroe Drive to West on 8th Street; travels through the Midtown neighborhood via Argonne and 5th St (inbound) and Piedmont and 10th St. (outbound); proceeds West on 5th St to South on Peachtree Street to West on Ponce de Leon Avenue and the North Avenue rail station; from the station it travels North on West Peachtree back to 5th Street

Route: From the North Avenue rail station, east on North Avenue to south on Monroe Drive/Boulevard. Continuing south on J.W. Dobbs and Jackson Street to west on Decatur St. to the King Memorial rail station. Then looping around Hilliard St., Edgewood Avenue, Jesse Hill Jr. Dr. and back to Decatur Street.
