Zonolite Road
Profile:
Zonolite Road is a fascinating little business district. Originally (and still largely) a semi-industrial warehouse district located adjacent to the railroad tracks across from Sage Hill Shopping Center, the development in the late 90s of the Floataway Buildings led to an influx of businesses you would not expect to find here. When you first turn down Zonolite Road, you are bound to think you are in the wrong place. However, continuing further down the street, you'll eventually discover the uber-chic Floataway Buildings, which are converted warehouses that have been transformed into a truly unique commercial space. There are relatively few retail businesses, but the opening of the Floataway Cafe in 1998 by Bacchanalia owners Anne Quatrano and Clifford Harrison insured that a steady stream of patrons would make the pilgrimage down this otherwise unappealing street to savor the ever-changing culinary experience at this unique restaurant.
In addition to a variety of light industrial businesses, this area is also home to a variety of professional offices, particularly for creative professionals including film production companies, graphic studios, and more.
NOTE: Our diagram does not show the majority of businesses located on Zonolite Road since most are not retail.
